13 Years With HER

This year for Mother’s Day I decided to write a poem for my mom. For souls that have lost a parent, no matter your age, or how long your parent has lived, the feeling of loss and gain, because of their presence on earth, are probably the same.

For my story, I had thirteen years with HER on this earth. As a mother of my own children, I will continue to be in awe of what my mom did for me in those short thirteen years. The life lessons that she taught me, and continues to teach me, influence me. I remember having a feeling when I found out that I was pregnant with my first child, down deep in my core soul, that my children would know HER. My children will know her favorite potato soup that she made for family and neighbors. My children will know how she taught me the power of prayer and that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior.  My children will know the taste of her deep chocolate gooy-gooies cookies, and how she read to me every night as a child. HER devotion to God and family continue to impact even the next generation of grandchildren she never met on this earth; however, they know HER as Grandmother Letha. HER presence on this earth was so short, but her impact in my life stretches beyond my life. HER presence was overflowing with Jesus’s love for everyone and always pointed back to HIM in every aspect of her life.

Mom, I love you with all my heart, mind, and soul, and I will never have enough words to share about your love. Until we hug again in heaven, I will continue to talk about you to Owen and Letha Kate. I will make the peanut butter Hershey cookies during Christmas, and share the kitchen time with the kids while making your potato soup. I will laugh when I can’t find anything in my purse and proceed to empty out the purse contents on the hood of the car. I will always pray with the family when we get in the car and strive to live a life that is pleasing to our Lord. Thank you for pouring your being into your kids and praying for your grandkids up in heaven. Until we see you again, love - M.C.

Marlo Moody

Welcome to the Marlo Moody Photography! I hope you find inspiration while feeling the authentic compassion and connection in my portfolio. My deep passion for photography began after my son was born about 9 years ago. I dusted off my canon camera that my husband purchased for us on our 1 year wedding anniversary. Desperately wanting to freeze the seconds with the kids, during our slow days at home, I began to realize just how much taking pictures and learning to edit them provided a positive outlet for me. Over the years, I’ve taken amazing classes locally and online. In 2019, I decided to take the leap of faith and officially launch my photography business. No matter how slow the process, I am loving every challenging moment. I have found my niche of family, children, and other life milestones, along with my lifestyle photography approach to capturing my clients pictures. A beautiful blend of documentary and portrait photography. I would love the opportunity to take your photos just as you are and show you how beautiful you look from my view.
