Top 3 Reasons to Select Maclay Gardens - Family Photo Session

In 1923, Alfred B. Maclay and his wife Louise, purchased 28 acres of historical land in Tallahassee, Florida for their winter home. This land is known today as the “masterpiece of floral architecture” that is located in the Northeastern part of Tallahassee, Florida. With the southern brick walkway, tucked away secret gardens, and hundreds of camellias and azaleas all around you, Maclay gardens is one of the most popular locations for so many family activities, weddings and of course photography.

As a photographer, parent of two children, and a business owner, the flow of “day of photo session” (Family Photo Workflow - Blog) is important to me so that I orchestrate the most of our time together. I strive to make my flow smooth for the family and for me, so that I am successful at directing the family for each image spot and smooth transitions to the next spot. The location is one of the key factors in making the workflow of a photographer a success. I strive to offer two to three different spots per location so that I can deliver a variety of images to you in your private viewing gallery and make the experience more enjoyable for the family.  Let's dive in below on the top 3 reasons why you should consider the gorgeous Maclay Gardens for your next family photo session.

Marlo Moody

Welcome to the Marlo Moody Photography! I hope you find inspiration while feeling the authentic compassion and connection in my portfolio. My deep passion for photography began after my son was born about 9 years ago. I dusted off my canon camera that my husband purchased for us on our 1 year wedding anniversary. Desperately wanting to freeze the seconds with the kids, during our slow days at home, I began to realize just how much taking pictures and learning to edit them provided a positive outlet for me. Over the years, I’ve taken amazing classes locally and online. In 2019, I decided to take the leap of faith and officially launch my photography business. No matter how slow the process, I am loving every challenging moment. I have found my niche of family, children, and other life milestones, along with my lifestyle photography approach to capturing my clients pictures. A beautiful blend of documentary and portrait photography. I would love the opportunity to take your photos just as you are and show you how beautiful you look from my view.
