I love the history of Dorothy B. Oven and the iconic location it is in Tallahassee. A lush North Florida garden filled with azaleas, camellias, and palms give it a such a special feeling. Dorothy B. Oven See below for my top five reasons to consider Dorothy B as your next family photo location. When my kids were younger we would come to Dorothy B for picnics and playdates with our friends. The garden is a wonderful location to explore, relax on the open green space, and enjoy a slow stroll. This spot is full of life and is just waiting for you!
1 - Location! Location! Location! - Visit Tallahassee This six acres garden is located off Thomasville Road, Tallahassee, Florida. A very well known place that locals go for walks around the garden, playing in the field in front of the pavilion, visit during the Christmas time for the spectacular lights, and taking pictures (Senior, proms, family, and babies). This centrally located spot makes arriving smooth for families. Parking is free and close to the meeting spots for taking pictures.
2 - Sunrise, Sunset, and the in-between - Dorothy B. garden is the best location for both sunrise, sunset and even in the middle of the day. The garden and trees offer a gorgeous backdrop along with the filter to the sunlight. This filter gives the even glow on faces. I love giving families the full gallery with black and white photos along with some that have fun sun flares. This location is a great spot to capture all the amazing family moments with beautiful lighting. The garden provides little pockets of hidden gardens all around. The hidden gardens are perfect for capturing the romantic images or exploring spots for your kids.
3 - Flow - Let’s be honest our lives flow and have moment each and everyday. From our schedules for work, to school drop offs and picks up etc… Well, my photo sessions have a workflow too. It is so important to me that the flow of your family session is easy, well planned out with some much needed margin to wiggle around. Just like our lives! I spend a good amount of time organizing the flow of your session that makes sure I am capturing and orchestrating the photos that I want in your gallery. 4 - Exploring - The mundane magically moments always happen when we have a location that gives families time to explore, connect, and find adventure. This is very important to me especially when we have little kiddos.
